Sally is a degree level trained Acupuncturist and full member of the British Acupuncture Council, the UK’s leading body for professional acupuncturists. She is also fully licenced by Stafford Borough Council.
Acupuncture is a form of Chinese Medicine that involves the insertion of fine needles into specific points of the body known as acupuncture points. Treatment aims to restore the natural flow of qi (some call it our life energy) by using carefully placed needles at key acupuncture points. The goal is to promote self-healing, improve well-being, and align the individual with their natural rhythm and environment.
Whilst Sally primarily uses the Five Element approach to acupuncture her training also incorporated aspects of TCM (traditional Chinese medicine). This allows her to offer patients an integrated approach were appropriate and ensure the best possible treatment outcomes.
Five Element Acupuncture is a holistic approach to health, rooted in ancient Chinese philosophy. It focuses on the balance and harmony of the five elements found in nature - Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water—each associated with specific organs, emotions, and seasons.
As part of her practice, she also uses adjunctive techniques such as moxibustion, guasha and cupping too. For example, the use of moxibustion (the herb mugwort) on an acupuncture point to warm and stimulate the point.
There is now a growing body of evidence-based research related to acupuncture and it is recommended by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) for a number of different conditions. Sally sees a wide array of different issues in clinic such as women’s health matters, mental health, insomnia, sciatica, to name a few. She offers a 15 minute free chat over the phone or Zoom for those wanting to find out more.
Sally lives locally and has a love of the outdoors, nature and travel.
