| A man complained to his GP about a horrible pain which
started at his knee, travelled up his side and into his neck. The
GP prescribed a series of pain-killers, but eventually had to refer
him to a Neurologist.
The Neurologist performed a laminectomy, but pain still started
in the knee, travelled up his side and into his neck.
Half-crippled, he was now sent to an Oncologist who diagnosed Pancoost's
Syndrome, performed an operation for lung cancer, prescribed cytotoxic
drugs and a series of radiation treatments.
The patient was now a respiratory cripple, nauseous all the time
and bald, but still had a pain which started in the knee, travelled
up his side and into his neck. Further more he hadn't been given
long to live.
In despair, he consulted an Osteopath, who twisted every joint
in his body, and started up new pains in places where previously
there weren't even places.
Finally, the patient saw a Spinal Touch Practitioner, who sympathised
about the pain in the knee, which travelled up his side and into
his neck, but could offer no solution, as he didn't really have
any distortion when measured at the plumbline and he didn't have
long to live. His advice was to put his affaires in order, make
peace with the people he needed to make peace with, and to make
the most of the time that was left to him.
"I've always wanted a really good suit," decided the
patient, and so off to Moss Bros for the most expensive material
and best fitting available. After six hours of attentive cutting
and fitting the tailor asked the patient, "Which side does
Sir, er, dress?" He coughed discreetly. "I've never thought
about it," he mused. "Does it matter?" "Oh yes,"
declared the scandalised tailor, "because if I cut the trousers
wrongly, you'll get a dreadful pain in your knee, that travels up
your side and into your neck ......"
