Helen Jennings

Helen has a Licentiate Diploma in Clinical Aromatology and is a member of the Institute of Aromatic Medicine.
I started my holistic business, Calmer Therapies, offering Aromatherapy and Reiki in 2006 after leaving my career as a lecturer in Adult Basic Skills at a local college of further education. Since then I have added other qualifications and skills to my portfolio and I am committed to continuous professional development so that I can keep my skills up to date.

I am a fully qualified Clinical Aromatherapist to IFPA standards and I have also attained a Distinction level Licentiate Diploma in Clinical Aromatology with The Penny Price Academy - this is an advanced level qualification in the original French style of Aromatherapy (Aromatherapie) - where essential oils, hydrolats and carrier oils may be prescribed for intensive use and are specifically chosen for their chemical components and therapeutic properties to treat specific conditions.
I also have:
A Diploma in Clinical Reflexology from the International Institute of Reflexology
A Diploma in Indian Head Massage
A Diploma in Hopi Ear Candling
I am a Reiki Master Teacher and Practitioner

I have also attended Continuous Professional Development courses in:

I have worked as a visiting therapist in the private care sector for 3 years, providing therapies to residents of a large 140 bed residential care home and I now have extensive experience in providing adapted treatments for clients with: early onset dementia, learning disabilities, challenging behaviour, acquired brain injury, physically disabled, elderly mentally infirm and frail elderly. This has also given me invaluable experience in working with clients presenting with a variety of acute and chronic health conditions such as: Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease, Huntington's Disease, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Stroke, Diabetes, Epilepsy, Heart Disease and many more.

I have full CRB disclosure for children and vulnerable adults. I have a current First Aid certificate.
