FIND RELIEF FROM BACK PAIN and HELP OTHERS TO DO THE SAME!Bowen Technique Back Pain ProjectIn June last year a survey looked at the effectiveness of Bowen in relieving back pain. The pilot study showed that 95 per cent of people experienced significant improvement, and a larger nationwide study is now planned for June 2007. The survey is organised by BTER, the main registering body for Bowen Practitioners in the UK. Claire Phillipson, Bowen therapist at the ISHTA Centre is looking for local people with back problems who have never experienced the Bowen Technique to try the therapy. Special rates for a course of three treatments are being offered in June. As well as experiencing the benefits of the therapy, participants will be invited to contribute to the nationwide project by helping Claire to record the nature and effects of their treatment. The Bowen Technique is a gentle, natural, non-invasive therapy. The therapist, using only thumbs and fingers, makes gentle rolling movements over muscles and tendons at precise points. The process releases energy, sending impulses to the brain to trigger the body's own healing systems. The Technique has a remarkable record of success in alleviating back pain - often when no other treatment has provided significant relief. Claire took part in last year's project and treated 4 people, all of whom showed marked improvement with problems that had existed from between 7 and 21 years. Emma, now in her 30's and who had experienced back pain from the age of 9, had an almost complete recovery within 3 sessions. She recently reported that the improvement had maintained with only "the occasional twinge". She also feels better generally with fewer mood swings, a change which her husband had noticed and commented upon! ** Special Rates Available for Project Participants **Course of 3 treatments for the price of 2 Claire can be contacted on 07967 384560 or email Claire@therapies4balance.co.uk More information about Bowen can be found on the BTER (Bowen Therapists European Register) website www.bter.org
