Crab Apple JellyA patient of the Centre, Victor Collier, gave us this receipe for Crab Apple Jelly. We made some last week and it is delicious. The receipeTake 4 volumes of crab apples and add 3 volumes of water. Simmer for 90 minutes. Strain through muslin for 12 hours. To every pint of liquor add 1 pound of sugar Boil for about 10 minutes until the setting point is reached. Bottle and devour greedily.
We used 4 litre jug fulls of crab apples and added 3 litre jug fulls of water. This gave us 4 pints of liquor The Give AwayYou may have noticed that we have a beautiful old crab apple tree at the Centre which is always laden with fruit. We have loads of crab apples ripe and ready on our tree at the Centre. Please feel free to help yourself to as many as you want and make this tasty and simple treat yourself.
