Chana Dahl
A quick to prepare tasty vegetarian dahl.
Ingredients (serves 4)

400g chick
peas, drained

2 medium
onions, chopped

2 cloves
garlic, crushed

1 tbsp
olive oil
-
1 tsp
cumin seeds
-
20g fresh
ginger
-
2 tsp
turmeric
-
4 green
chillies
-
200g small
tinned tomatoes
Method
-
Fry the
onions and garlic in a pan until golden brown

Add cumin
seeds and ginger and cook for 1 minute

Add turmeric
and chillies and cook for a further minute
-
Add the
chopped tomatoes and simmer for 5 minutes
-
Add 1
litre of water, bring to the boil and add the chick peas
-
Simmer
for 30 minutes

Garnish
with coriander
