Bog Off with a Bogof

We've just come back from a very nice pre-festive season break. We stayed at a great hotel and had a wonderful time using the facilities and it was absolutely FREE. Yes we had a free weekend away in a top hotel and you could get one too.

How we did it

Have you heard the term 'bogof'? It's an acronym for Buy One Get One Free. This is not to be confused with the Liverpool expression 'Bog Off', which means to leave or go away.

Last year someone suggested to us that every time you get a bogof, at the supermarket, or money off voucher for petrol etc., you put the money you save in a box instead of spending it. Now the odd 50 pence or couple of quid here or there doesn't make an awful lot of difference by themselves but we decided to give it a go to see what would happen.

The Results

Well believe it or not we ended up with over £300 in the box! The weekend away cost us £290 so we even had a few bob left over for a drink or two. We've already started a box off for next year. Why not give it a try yourselves, and have a weekend away on the supermarkets. Let us know how you get on.
