 Migraine - Your Questions Answered

Do you suffer from migraine? If so you will be interested in anything that can help reduce the number or intensity of attacks and allow you to cope with this debilitating condition. There are many effective approaches but it can be confusing to know what to try. Here is news about a resource to assist you in sorting through all the possible treatments and help on offer, both medical and alternative/complementary.

The Migraine Action Association is a charity offering information and support to migraine sufferers throughout the UK. The association has a website, a quarterly newsletter for members and organises local support groups in many parts of the country. It has details of self-help, complementary and medical approaches and all the latest info.

Ask the Expert Forum

Every month the website features an "Ask the Expert" section where members can put their questions to a specialist in a particular treatment area. Previous months have featured managing stress, food intolerance. and acupuncture.

In May Claire Phillipson, Bowen Therapist at the Ishta Centre, will be fielding questions about Bowen Technique and how it can help migraine sufferers. A gentle, non-invasive and holistic therapy, Bowen can help reduce many of the symptoms of migraine whatever the underlying causes - stress relief, reduction of muscular tension in the neck and shoulders and a balancing, supportive effect on the immune system can all be prompted by treatment.

Take a look at the MAA website at www.migraine.org.uk

You can also contact Claire directly on 07967 384560 or email claire@therapies4balance.co.uk.

For Connections to Health readers there is an offer of £5 off your first treatment for bookings made in May.
