The gall bladder and liver cleanse

This is the sixth part in our detoxification series.  You can get the previous parts here. Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5.

So far we have looked at cleansing the bowel and getting rid of parasites. The next step along the path to vitality is how do we cleanse and support the liver and gall bladder?

The aim of this part of the cleansing process is to remove congestion from the liver via releasing old bile products and gall stones from the gall bladder.

The process takes about a week to do and is designed to be done several times on a monthly basis over a period of 6 months or so. Single cleanses will be of benefit but the full effects will not be felt until several have been performed.

As the aim is to detoxify the liver it is best if during the weeks between the cleanses you are careful not to re-toxify the liver.

If you have symptoms of gallstones or any other gall bladder or liver dysfunction or disease then please consult your medical practitioner before embarking on this cleanse.

The Cleanse

The process takes about 1 week, the first 5 days are preparation, the cleanse is on the 6th day and the 7th day is for recovery.

Time it so that days 6 and 7 are at the weekends so you can take as much rest as you need.

It is best if this procedure is carried out after the colon cleanse so that the impact on the liver due to a blocked colon are reduced. This will reduce any nauseating feelings that can occur.

The week of the flush have a whole food diet high in fruit and vegetables, low in fat and avoid all processed foods, sugar, tea, coffee, alcohol, wheat, eggs and caffeine.

Drink 1 to 2 litres of apple juice (not from concentrate) each day. This will help to soften the stones and is an essential part of the flush.

The Flush

On the sixth day. Eat a breakfast of fruit or porridge made with oats and fruit juice. Eat fruit for the rest of the morning and maybe have a jacket potato for lunch (no butter) with a salad. It is very important not to have any fat on this day. Also do not take any vitamins or unnecessary medication.

Do not eat after 2pm.

Around 6pm (at least three hours after lunch) dissolve one teaspoon of Epsom salts in 1/4 pint of water & drink. Drink a little water afterwards or rinse your mouth out.

At 8 p.m. drink teaspoon of Epsom salts solution again.

At 10 p.m. mix 1/4 pint of fresh, quality olive oil with 1/4 pint of freshly squeezed lemon juice. Mix thoroughly & drink in one gulp if possible whilst standing, do not take longer than 5 minutes to drink it down.

Immediately go to bed and lie down on your right side, with your knees pulled up to your chest for one hour. Then try to go to sleep that way if possible. The sooner you lie down, the more stones you will get out.

During the night and the next morning, you may feel some nausea due to the oil and toxins being dumped into the colon.

Upon awakening take another dose of Epsom salts. You may go back to bed. Don't drink this before 6.00 a.m.

2 Hours later - take the 4th and last dose of Epsom salts. You may again go back to bed.

After 2 more hours - You may eat. Start with fruit juice. Half an hour later eat fruit. One hour later you may eat regular food but keep it light - salads, steamed vegetables, fruit, juices, etc. By supper you should feel well.

There are occasions when you may feel a little unwell for a couple of days, particularly when you have not done a flush before.

The Stones

In the morning of day 7 expect diarrhoea. Try to catch the gallstones in a sieve in the toilet pan so that you can see them. Most of the stones will be SOFT and green, breaking easily, or even dissolving. All these green stones are as soft as putty thanks to the apple juice, and are mostly made of cholesterol.

Why do we need more than one cleanse?

This is because a few days after the cleanse, stones from the rear of the liver will have traveled "forward" towards the main bile ducts leaving the liver, and fill the gall bladder again! This is why it is sometimes necessary to do up to 6 cleanses (perhaps one each month) in order to get rid of all the stones. If a cleanse produces no more stones, your liver can be considered to be in excellent condition!

Some information about the ingredients used:

The apple juice will soften the cholesterol stones.

The Epsom salts will loosen the bowels and help you go to the toilet the next day.

The olive oil will force the gall bladder to contract and squeeze the bile and stones out.

The lemon juice makes swallowing the olive oil more palatable, with less possibility of vomiting and will help to balance the pH of the body.

We wish you all well! A clean gall bladder can lead to higher energy levels, alleviation of allergies, flatulence, digestive problems, back pains and more.

N.B. The liver/gall bladder cleanse should not be performed by pregnant women, persons who have had their gall bladder removed (of course). Persons with symptomatic gallstones or blockages of the bile duct can perform this cleanse only under the careful observation of a healthcare practitioner who has supervised gall bladder flushes.
