Summary of the Cleansing Process
So we have come to the end of the cleansing process and it has been an involved and long process. But to give yourself a good clear out and get everything working smoothly does take time and consistent effort.
If you have attempted the process well done and if you are still going through it keep going the end results of improved health and vitality are worth the effort.
I just want to summarise the process and why it is important to undergo these cleansing processes.
We are subjected to so many contaminants that our cells and bodies find it difficult sometimes very difficult to perform their tasks that they are designed to do and over time become clogged up and inefficient. So we need to clean the whole system a bit like giving the house a spring clean, including the pipe work.
As we said in the beginning there is a pathway that if followed will give you the best results. The pathway for the removal of waste and toxins is this:- Cell -->Interstitial Fluid -->Lymphatics -->Blood -->Liver -->Gall Bladder -->Bile -->Bowel -->Exit.
Some of the toxins are also removed from the blood via the kidneys, the lungs and the skin, and are excreted via the urine, breath and sweat.
In order to improve the working of this elimination pathway we need to begin at the end because if the bowels are inefficient then the whole pathway backs up. The same can be said for the rest of the pathway right back to the cell.
To get the full picture of ideas on how to improve the different sections of this pathway please refer back to the individual newsletters starting with October 2007 edition of Connections to Health.
To briefly summarise how to improve the function and elimination of the various stages in the pathway. The BowelThe bowel can be improved by drinking more water, eating more foods with fibre, primarily vegetables and fruit but including pulses and beans if you can tolerate them. A simple very effective way of improving the functioning of the bowels and reducing inflammation is to soak 1 tablespoon full of linseeds over-night in a mug and on waking stir the contents and drink the whole gelatinous mass. Drink around 1.5 litres of water per day of filtered water; the exact amount depends on your diet, size and daily activities. See November 2007 issue of Connections to Health newsletter for a more detailed discussion. Then re-populate the gut with a good probiotic, see December 2008 issue. See the bottom of this article for a great one. The next step is to clear out the mucoidal plaque, January 2008 issue. The function of the bowel will be greatly improved if any parasites are eliminated so a good parasite purge is advised if you have or suspect you have parasites, see Connections to Health newsletter, February 2008 for more information.
Bile, Gall Bladder and Liver.
To improve the bile flow from the gall bladder a simple gall bladder cleanse will help, to review the procedure please go to the March 2008 issue of Connections to Health.
Blood.
Restoring and maintaining the integrity of the blood is important as this is the major form of transport around the body.
The main things you can do to restore your blood to the ideal transport medium is to drink plenty of water, eat foods rich in antioxidants ( to repair the vessel walls and prevent oxidative damage), ensure your diet contains plenty of omega 3 ( fish oils). Exercise is essential for the cardiovascular system which pumps the blood around the body so ensure you are doing enough of the right type of exercise for you. See April 2008 edition of the Connections to Health Newsletter for a full report.
Next we have the lymphatic system.
A major part in the elimination process is getting the toxins out of the cell and into the lymphatic system. The lymphatic system is connected to every organ of the body, its function is completely different from that of the cardiovascular system. It is the rubbish collector, the internal vacuum cleaner sucking up metabolic waste, toxins and excess fluid from the extracellular fluid of every organ. If this flow is impaired, the fluid becomes thick and toxic. The parts of the body that rely on it for elimination become less efficient and sluggish as they fill with their own waste. This otherwise life sustaining system now becomes a breeding ground for infection.
The function of it can be improved by again drinking more water, skin brushing, exercise, deep breathing exercises, Craniosacral Therapy, manual lymphatic drainage and the Lebed method. For more details read issue May 2008, of the Connections to Health Newsletter.
The Cell.
We are finally at the beginning of the process getting the rubbish out of the cell and the nutrients and vitality into them. This takes place across the semi-permeable membrane of the cell. So the degree of efficiency of the cell to perform its tasks is down to the integrity of the cell membrane. This can be improved with the right balance of omega 3's to omega 6's and most people eat diets rich in omega 6 and therefore require omega 3 supplements. For the majority of people the most dietary available form of omega 3 are in the form of fish oils. Vitamin E is a great protector of the cell membrane against oxidative damage, vitamin E is found in nuts and seeds. For the correct information to get to the cell and across the membrane requires glycoproteins, these are found in lots of fruit and vegetables, but aloe vera is an excellent source of them. Again water is essential for a healthy cell membrane. See edition July/Aug. 2008 of Connections to Health.
The Kidneys, Lungs and Skin.
These are also essential in the elimination process.
The kidneys require lots of fluid each day to keep them flushed out. A diet rich in water, fruit and vegetable juices are beneficial. Juicing a melon is great for the kidneys.
The skin will respond positively to a diet with ample water and a good supply of omega 3 essential fatty acids, skin brushing, and contrast showers.
The lungs are constantly eliminating waste across their membranes and out through the nose and mouth. Vitamin C is in plentiful supply in the lungs as an antioxidant protecting the delicate tissue, so eat plenty of fruit and vegetables to ensure a constant supply. See the June 2008 edition of Connections to Health.
Before embarking on an in depth cleanse like this please check with your health-care provider that it is suitable.
Hope this provides some memory joggers for you and will inspire you to return to the original sections of the newsletter for further clarification and information on how you can help yourself to a more efficient and vital eliminatory process. If you do nothing else drink plenty of water, eat a whole food diet rich in vegetables and fruit and exercise.
