House of Horrors In 1989 the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration checked the safety of chemicals used in toiletries and cosmetics. They found that 884 were toxic: and of that 884 778 caused acute toxicity 378 caused skin and eye irritations 314 caused biological mutation 218caused reproductive complications 146 caused tumours In 1997 the U.S. General Accounting Office went on to say that of those 884 125 caused cancer "Many Others" (?!) caused birth defects Since then how many of these ingredients have been removed from use?  Shockingly none. All we can do as consumers is to vote with our pockets and buy from companies who don't use these toxic ingredients in their products.  If you find them hard to find we can put in touch with the company we use.
