No more speed I'm almost there...

Late last year I received notice of a speeding fine. It appears I had been doing 40 mph in a 30 mph zone. Now this was very surprising to me because generally I (Allyn) don't speed. I like to enjoy my driving and often drive well below the speed limit.

However, it seems that a revenue camera, excuse me, a speed camera, sorry again, a safety camera had caught me doing 40.

Well to be honest I didn't believe it. In fact I went to back to where I had been caught to investigate.

Guess what. It was true. The speed limit altered for about 200 yards or so from 40 to 30. I'm sure there is a good reason for this change in speed limit, but I'm afraid all I could see was that the only reason was for the revenue camera. It was kind of tricky too the way all the signs, and the revenue camera were situated.

Anyway, back to the ticket. It seems you can't talk to anyone about it until you've filled in the form. Then when you try to talk to someone they say well you've admitted it on the form.
It seems that in England you are innocent until proven guilty unless it is a motoring offence then you are guilty until proven innocent.

I copped a £60 fine and got three points on my licence, the first I've ever had.

Now that I've come to renew my car insurance it seems that it's a gift which never stops giving as I now have to pay more for my insurance too.
