My initial training was in western herbal medicine: I graduated in 1991 and have been practising since then.
Subsequently I completed a 3-year course in acupuncture at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading.
Since 1996 I have used both herbal medicine and acupuncture in my practice, either separately or in combination, depending on the wishes of the patient and on what I feel is the best approach for each individual.

In Chinese medicine health is seen as a state of positive well-being, with physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health being seen as inseparable. It is this comprehensive approach that I love about the Chinese view of health and disease, and I have found that both acupuncture and herbal medicine can promote health in this holistic sense.
