McTimoney - CranioSacral - Ishta Spinal Touch - Koren Specific Technique

I worked for the National Health Service for fifteen years as an Immunologist. Fascinated by the ability of the immune system to protect us I got deeply involved with the inner workings of the body. I even did some original work and obtained my Fellowship in Immunology. As I became more and more convinced of the body's ability to heal itself, if the correct conditions are made available to it, so I became more and more convinced that the traditional medical approach to health and disease didn't support the body to do this. In fact I became so disillusioned with the medical approach that I stopped working for the N.H.S. and took some time out so that I could decide on my future course.
It was during this time that I hurt my back while dancing and it developed into sciatica. I remembered talking to a McTimoney Chiropractor at a Sacred Dance class I had been running, so I went to see her. Not only did the treatment I received enable me to resolve my sciatica but also she explained to me the philosophy behind Chiropractic. Chiropractic is solely based on the re-empowering of the body to heal itself. The Chiropractic philosophy resonated with me so much that I decided to train as a McTimoney Chiropractor.
I qualified as a McTimoney Chiropractor in 1990. In 1995 I qualified in CranioSacral Therapy. This technique grew out of Chiropractic in the 1920's and was originally called Craniopathy. In 1998 I qualified in another technique that grew out of Chiropractic called Ishta Spinal Touch. In 2007 I trained in Koren Specific Technique a dynamic new form of Chiropractic. These four techniques together form a very potent system for encouraging the body's healing abilities to get back on track by restoring and maintaining the nervous system.
